10 thoughts on parenting @ this moment.

The start of a New Year always has me reflecting on things. Personally I am not in the mindset of making big changes but instead prefer to use it as a time to reflect and renew. It's also been a minute since I did some writing and with my toddler on the verge of her 3rd birthday (!) I wanted to get these thoughts out.

In no particular order here are 10 lessons I have learned in parenting thus far (from newborn life to toddler-land).

  1. Everything is a phase. No matter what wave you are riding on. Good. Bad. It won't last forever.

  2. You will feel many times you have failed, shit the bed, can't do anything right. It actually means you are doing a great job because you care.

  3. Parenting in not about perfecting. It's about doing. *sometimes it's actually just about surviving*.

  4. TRUST. YOUR. GUT.

  5. You won't love every moment. Other moments you'll want to last forever.

  6. No one is doing a better job than you. The world would be boring if everyone parented the exact same way.

  7. Find mom friends who have the same vibe as you. Use them as your support system.

  8. Feeling sad or out of whack @ times is totally normal. Be aware and accept where you are at.

  9. Everything works out. Often not the way you imagined but you'll see the purpose with time.

  10. Feel proud. You are good enough. You are awesome.
